A fantastical place for my grandkids. Critters to see and hold. Knowledgable
staff
They always have pets for you to take home. Pens are kept clean and animals are well taken care of.
Went today and needed another tank. Got a unique 6 long gal. Got some Fluorite gravel and piece of drift wood. Petrified wood from another place called “Oregon decorative rocks” on Denny. All and all, I am satisfied and will be returning for some plants.
It was an amazing place that I would definitely recommend. It had lots of dogs, some cats, a couple of rodents, and a few reptiles. There is a rule that you can't touch the animals who don't have enough vaccines unless you ask one of the employees to let you hold one.
So here's the TRUTH about Critter Cabana. Totally UNETHICAL. For so many reasons. The animals are kept in loud, crowded, stressful conditions. Anyone is allowed to handle the puppies, regardless of whether or not they are sleeping or terrified. They are kept in tiny glass bins filled with a thin layer of cheap small animal bedding - like the kind you would use for a pet mouse. They never have clean water because it's covered in said bedding. They also have to sit in their own feces. Some of the puppies are completely alone, which is wrong. Some of them are crammed in a bin with six siblings, which is also wrong. Basically, this is a place for immature teenagers to take stupid selfies with mistreated animals. I've seen children holding animals in such a way that they must be causing them pain and discomfort, and children shouldn't even be allowed to hold them. They might even have a 'rule' saying so, but the staff doesn't monitor anything. The store is very loud. The animals are stressed. And that brings me to my next point - the animals. The puppies come from puppy mills. If you don't know what happens in puppy mills, look it up. It's ABUSE. Instead of helping homeless animals to be rescued, they look to make a profit off of exploitation and abuse. Additionally, they sell 'exotic' animals like sugar gliders, which is SO WRONG. Sugar gliders are completely nocturnal. They need a lot of attention and playtime, ALL of which happens at night. People who buy sugar gliders almost always neglect them because they sleep all day. So when they are awake, they're completely alone. And the sugar gliders in Critter Cabana are definitely neglected. They belong in the wild only, and it's wrong to sell them, just like it's wrong to sell a lion or a sloth. So, if you give Critter Cabana a single minute of your time or a single cent of your paycheck, YOU are contributing to animal abuse. Think about that next time you feel the need to take a stupid selfie with those poor puppies. Help me shut this unethical place down by NEVER stepping foot in there.
